The U.S. Embassy in Rabat is seeking an individual for the Driver (Clerk)

POSITION: Driver (Clerk), FSN-04, FP-*AA

WORK HOURS: Full-time; 48 hours/week (Monday to Saturday)

SALARY: *Not-Ordinarily Resident: $24,518 p.a. (Starting Salary based on 40 hours)
(Position Grade: FP-AA following confirmation by Washington)
*Ordinarily Resident: Gross Salary 101,401 DH p.a. (Starting Salary based on 40 hours including allowances, competitive bonus and benefits package. U.S. Mission will withhold from your gross salary employee's portion of the CNSS and CIMR contributions, health/life/disability insurance contributions as well as all tax obligations as imposed by the US and/or host country governments)
(Position Grade: FSN-04)

LENGTH OF APPOINTMENT: THIS IS A LIMITED APPOINTMENT NOT TO EXCEED TWO YEARS FROM THE DATE OF HIRE.

The U.S. Embassy in Rabat is seeking an individual for the Driver (Clerk) position to work for the Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations (OBO).

BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION:

The incumbent serves as Driver/Clerk for OBO Construction Project Office. He is responsible for transporting passengers, pouches, cargo, purchasing local or picking up office supplies, and expediting people and materials from the port and airport; providing safe transportation services to passengers; maintaining vehicles in clean condition; performing minor maintenance of preventative nature including checking oil, water, brakes, lights, battery, tires, windshield wipers, etc. prior to each trip, and completing trip tickets or other daily vehicle records.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

NOTE: All applicants must address each selection criterion detailed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each item.

Education: Completion of Secondary School is required. Experience: 3 to 5 years of professional driving experience out of which a minimum of six months of clerical office support experience is required.
Language: Level 3 (good working knowledge) of English, French, and Arabic is required.
Knowledge:

  • Must be familiar with driving routes in country, particularly of driving routes in Rabat and Casablanca.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to safely operate passenger and light cargo motor vehicles.
  • Driver Licenses “B” and “D” are required.
  • Ability to use a computer and knowledge of Outlook Express, Excel and Word is required.

SELECTION PROCESS:

When equally qualified, US Citizen EFMs and US Veterans will be given preference. Therefore, it is essential that the candidate address the required qualifications above in the application.
