About the Job:
Relief International is looking for an Executive Director – MSME Finance. Under the supervision of the vice president, social enterprise, s/he will be a part of RI'€™s global senior technical team. S/he will be responsible for for developing, implementing, coordinating, and promoting RI's MSME finance initiatives in Iraq.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage RI’s MSME strategy in Iraq;
- Oversee RI MF Iraq’s day-to-day operations and provide management oversight of direct reports on the senior management team implementing RI’s MSME operations;
- Identify and secure additional sources of capital (debt and equity) beyond the traditional donor base and develop and maintain a database of potential partners;
- Recruit and train up senior management as necessary;
- Lead the refinement and expansion of existing product lines and the development, testing, introduction, and expansion of new product lines as necessary to meet growing market demands;
- Develop and implement annual work plans for microfinance programming in the Greater Middle East;
- Oversee data collection and reporting to partners;
- As a member of the RI global team, develop, evaluate, and update global, regional, and country specific microfinance strategic plans, business plans, human resource development plans, technical assistance, and other support services and strategies;
- Represent RI and the Iraq microfinance program with legal, financial, government, and other key players in microfinance.
Qualifications:
- B.A/Sc. in Economics, Finance or Development, or other related field, MBA preferred;
- Knowledge of best practice microfinance standards and MSE lending, at least 5 years microfinance experience;
- Experience managing a commercial microfinance entity and/or a transformation process;
- Management-level experience in the commercial finance sector a plus;
- Strong English and Arabic skills, additional Kurdish proficiency ideal;
- Excellent writing and presentation skills, ability to highlight and explain relevant data;
- Experience working with international financial partners.
